Successful PVAO General Assembly

 

A very successful ParaVolley Asia Oceania General Assembly was held on 13 June 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand with 9 nations in attendance.

The President of PVAO, Mr Lu Cailiang and the Board presented Reports of activities over the last 2 years and the World ParaVolley President, Mr Barry Couzner OAM stressed the many historic achievements of the PVAO Zone.

PVAO has been very active and delivered:

· Certification courses for coaches, referees and classifiers in KOR and THA

· World Super 6 events in IRI, CHN and JPN

· Beach ParaVolley in CHN

· The Development Centre in Hangzhou CHN

· The Final Qualifiers for the World Championships in KOR

· The MoU with Beijing Sport University

In 2020 the IWAS World Games, the ASEAN Para Games, the World ParaVolley Intercontinental and the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be held in the region.

Two outcomes from the meeting included the election of Ms Zhang Yanhua as Media and Communications Officer and the establishment of 5 PVAO Sub-Zones each with a Chairperson to lead development and competitions between nearby countries.

The next General Assembly will be held in 2021.
